If you’ve been thinking about trying your hand at growing vegetables at high altitude and are looking for a little guidance and encouragement, then come on over to the Truckee Demonstration Garden for our Organic Gardening 101 class.

Slow Food Lake Tahoe is offering an introduction to vegetable gardening, including basic patterns and principles of organic growing. Our resident soil scientist, Heather Kenison, will cover the importance of good soil and how to grow a healthy soil food web, the basics of plant selection, site selection, garden design and layout, and more.
