YOUTH EDUCATION & GROUP VOLUNTEER DAYS

Youth groups of all ages are invited to spend time in the garden getting their hands dirty.  Garden lessons include teaching kids where food comes from, what real food tastes like, how to grow and harvest fresh produce in an environmentally friendly way, and how food connects to culture and community.

If you have a club or business in Truckee and are looking for a community project for your group, the Garden is the perfect opportunity! Help with Community Dig-Ins, weekly maintenance, or by fundraising for monetary or in-kind contributions.

Community Dig-In at Slow Food Lake Tahoe's Food Bank Garden located in Truckee, CA

Need a garden to grow your own food?  You can rent a garden bed in the Truckee Community Garden or view plans to build your own.

THE GARDEN IS LOCATED...

behind the baseball field in the Truckee River Regional Park, 10500 Brockway Rd, Truckee, CA. From Brockway Road, turn onto Estates Drive (at the Skate Park) and head straight into the park entrance (rather than following the road to the right).  Park there and follow the dirt path that leads towards the "Music in the Park" venue.  All are welcome!

SFLT respectfully acknowledges that our garden is located on the traditional territory of the Washoe people. We recognize and honor the enduring presence of Indigenous peoples on this land and express our gratitude for their stewardship of the natural world.
