Dinner in the Barn

On June 1, Gary Romano of Sierra Valley Farms and Mark Estee of Moody's Bistro and Lounge hosted a delicious dinner for over 30 people at Garys farm in Beckwourth.  The meal proved to be a huge success, bringing together folks over a delicious meal made with produce grown right on Gary's farm, entertaining music, and lively conversation.

Clean Fish Discussion and Dinner at Dragonfly

On April 10th, Billy McCullough of Dragonfly restaurant hosted a discussion on sustainable seafood.  The free discussion, led by Clean Fish's co-founder Dale Simms, touched on subjects of what questions to ask at the fish market, the difference between sustainably farmed fish and irresponsibly farmed fish, and how we can encourage others to do the right thing with their purchasing power.

The discussion was followed by a five course meal using only fish that is sourced from Clean Fish's suppliers of sustainbly caught or farmed seafood.  It began with a sashimi plate of Loch Duart salmon, yellowtail kingfish, Texas redfish, and Colorado striped bass.  This was followed by chili spiced laughing bird prawn "popcorn shrimp", seared yellowtail kingfish, oven roasted Colorado striped bass, and ended with a sweet note with a duet of sorbets.
